Day 2

On the second day,the 8th of June, we arrived at 10a.m to prepare for the making of dumplings to be given out at the latter part of the day. We shifted the necessary furniture and cooking equipment from the MPFSC to the open area under the nearby void deck. The making of the dumplings was to be left to another group of students who had volunteered at the centre.

At around 10.15 a.m we continued from where we had left off yesterday in pairs-i.e. having completed the general survey for blocks 15 and 16 on the first day, there were three more blocks to go,51,52 and 53. We worked from block to block, starting with number 51 in the morning and finishing half of block 52 by lunchtime which was around 1.30p.m. After lunch we finished up the surveys for the remainder of block 52 and the entire block 53. By the time we had finished the surveys for all the blocks, it was around 2.45 p.m.

We reported back to MPFSC and from there we discussed how we were going to coordinate the giving out of the dumplings to the various addresses on the list which stated who were to receive the dumplings. During this extensive activity, we had extra manpower from MPFSC. We were left in charge to coordinate the concerted effort between the different student volunteers. From the MPFSC, we planned and despatched the different groups to the addresses. After coordinating everything, we too went to help give out these dumplings to the addresses. This lasted till around 4.00p.m.

After reporting back to the MPFSC, we packed up the place and hence concluded our activity at 4.15p.m.
