Day 4 began with breakfast and then another cycling expedition to another village called Bản Bồ. We got to see interesting sights that encompassed village life, ranging from brick making for construction to minor quarry work. We started sometime around 830 and reached the village around late morning early afternoon.
Along the way we passed Black Dao villages and even spoke to some of the women returning from their morning expedition to the forest to collect firewood. Midway, we passed a secondary school and played volleyball there and donated a soccer ball we had previously bought. Then we returned to Bình Lư and had lunch. After lunch we packed up and returned to Sapa by van.
Sapa was still extremely foggy and wet. We passed Heaven's Gate but could not see the otherwise magnificent scenery of the Hoàng Liên Sơn mountain ranges. We now have to decide how to proceed as clearly, we cant set off to continue our exploration of the Sapa region tomorrow. At dinner in quite an interesting western restaurant call Gerbera, we decided to swap the adventurous journey exploration planned for tomorrow with Day 1 of our Residential Project. The weather was not favourable nor safe for us to embark on a trip down the Sapa valley and to altitudes above 1800m. We discussed with our teacher and our local guide to make alternative arrangements to start work at Cát Cắt village, San Sả Hồ primary school.
